Short Description
The trek to Green Lake and Zemu Glacier at the higher elevation
of North Sikkim and the base of Mt. Kanchanjunga has been a
recent addition in the Sikkim trekking map. This 14 days trek
takes you close to the Tibetan plateau, to a land of unknown
wilderness inhabited by rare Himalayan species like Snow Leopard,
Blue Ship and Tibetan Wild Ass, to a land of Tibetan nomadic
people and to an unbelievable landscape with high mountain peaks
and glaciers.
Day
01: Reception at Bagdogra and drive to Gangtok. Overnight
at Hotel.
Day 02: Drive Gangtok to Lachen a small Tibetan
village at 9000ft. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: Start trekking to Tallem (11,100 in
5hrs). Overnight at Tent.
Day 04: Trek from Tallem to Jakthang (10,200
in 4 hrs). Overnight at Tent.
Day 05: The trek from Jakthang to Yabuk (13,100ft
in 5hrs). Overnight at Tent.
Day 06: Trek from Yabuk to Rest Camp (15,200
ft in 6 hrs). Overnight at Tent.
Day 07: Rest day for exploration and acclimatization.
Overnight at Tent.
Day
08: Trek from Rest Camp to Green Lake (16150ft in 3hrs).
Overnight at Tent.
Day 09: Optional hike from Green Lake to Zemu
Glacier and back (18,050ft in 4hrs). Overnight at Tent.
Day 10: Return trek from Green Lake to Yabuk.
Overnight at Tent.
Day 11: Trek back from Yabuk to Jakthang. Overnight
at Tent.
Day 12: Trek Jakthang to Lachen. Trek ends.
Overnight at Lodge or tent.
Day 13: Lachen to Gangtok drive by jeep. Overnight
at Hotel.
Day 14: Return to Bagdogra Airport for onward
