First Aid
A first aid kit is arguably the most important
thing you will carry for your camping. The elements of nature
can often be unpredictable and may cause injury even when best
possible precaution is taken. A first aid kit would also be
helpful for those small cuts and bruises that are hard to avoid
when you are outdoor. Some first hand experience in first aid
technique can also prove valuable.
Following is a list of good first aid manual.
The list is not exhaustive but only indicative
• Small knife or multi-use tool.
• Tweezers
• Emergency blanket
• Razor blade
• Matches/lighter
• Small mirror - metal is best
• Thermometer
• 1 Instant Cold Pack - Use to prevent heat exhaustion and as
a cold treatment for burns, bruises, sprains, swelling, headaches
and toothaches.
• 1 Sterilized Water Packet - 4 ounces of sterile, purified
water. Use for drinking or to clean a wound. 5 year shelf life.
• Medical tape
• Needle and thread
• Safety pins
• Safety gloves
• Scissors
• Band-Aids - get a box with lots of different sizes and shapes
• Eye dressing.
• Elastic wrap bandage
• Triangular bandage - for injured arms and shoulders
• Gauze pads - bring lots! If anyone is injured there will really
come in handy
• Large compress bandage
• Antiseptic wipes
• Lip Balm (with sun protection)
• Neosporin
• Adult pain reliever
• Non-asprin pain reliever for children
• Antihistamine for adults
• Antacid tablets
• Burn ointment
• Insect repellent
• Iodine - can be used to make safe drinking water
