Holong Bungalow at Jaldapara Wild Life Sanctuary The ideal place to watch wild animals in their
natural habitat from a stone throw distance is Holong Forest
Bungalow deep inside the Jaldapara Sanctuary. Sitting near the
window of their room the tourist can see the animals as they
come to drink water at the small pool adjacent to the bungalow.
Rhino, Elephant, Indian Bison, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Boar are
the regular visitors and can be watched from dawn to dusk.
Watching the animals from the lobby on a pitch-dark
night with help of searchlight is a real wild experience. The
chorus of beetles and crickets, the glow of thousands of fireflies,
sudden flashy flight of an owl, a scared call of a deer from
nearby forests followed by a roar of a famous animal- the woods
around you become alive.
The well-furnished wooded cabins in the Holong
bungalow provide cozy stay with warm hospitality.
Attractions in Hollong: From the Holong bungalow
premises the exciting elephant safari is organized in the morning.
Car Safari is also organized from the bungalow. The safaris
allows to enjoy the beauty of the massive grassland teemed with
wildlife.
Places around Hollong: Phuntsoling (30Kms), Totopara- the aborigine's
settlement- (25kms).
Location of Hollong Bungalow: The Hollong Bungalow is located
deep inside the forest 8kms from Madarihat, which is well connected
with road from Siliguri (140kms) and Alipurduar (45kms).
Nearest Railhead: Madarihat, Alipurduar junction.

Important:
Because of inadequate accommodation to cater the increasing
rush of tourist an early confirmation is required to avail the
room particularly during April-May and Oct-Nov period.
The forest remains closed from June 15 to September 15. No tourist
activity inside the park is allowed during this period. |
