The Gurung House at Tinchuley Tinchuley eco-tourism initiative was an endeavor
by the local people that converted a little know village near
Darjeeling into an well known eco-tourism destination. With
assistance from local tour operators and WWF India, the inhabitants
of Tinchuley converted their village into a model village. Today
the villagers are engaged in in floriculture, vermiculture,
organic projects and eco-tourism. The eco-tourism accommodation
is arranged in about 5-6 houses which has been revamped to comply
with tourist requirements. The absolute tranquility of the place,
beautiful view of the Himalayan mountain ranges and local hospitality
attracts many national and international guests to this place.
